Gray Public Library Association - Helping Make Our Library Extra Special!

Words from the Board

Dear Friends,

Gray Public Library is much more than a building full of books; it’s a place where every day tells a story.

In the grand landscape of libraries, GPL might not appear remarkable at first glance. Our little building on Hancock Street is modest and unadorned. Yet within these walls, magic happens.

This is where parents and grandparents bring their children and grandchildren to gather for storytime, their laughter echoing through the Children’s Room. It’s where neighbors run into one another while browsing the same aisle, exchanging book suggestions and friendly smiles. At the Circulation Desk, staff members greet everyone by name, ready to chat about the latest mystery novel, a favorite local hiking trail, or how the tomatoes are doing this year.

For children and families, we offer a vibrant range of programs, from our outstanding Summer Reading Program, and holiday cookie decorating, to the STEM Club and the Teen Book Club. But the fun doesn’t stop with the kids! Adults enjoy weekly film screenings, four different book clubs, engaging presentations, and inspiring author talks. There’s always something happening at GPL.

The Gray Public Library Association’s mission is to support these events and the many activities that make our library the heart of our community. Every dollar donated helps sustain programs that bring people together and enrich daily life in Gray.

Gray Public Library belongs to all of us. It’s where a child discovers a love of reading, a teenager finds a quiet corner to study, a newcomer feels welcomed, and a retiree rediscovers old passions.

With the continued generosity of our friends and neighbors, we’re ready to make the coming year our best one yet. The story of the Gray Public Library is still being written, and we’re so grateful to have you as part of it.

Thank you for your support.
